hello? hello? is this thing on?

we're home now, as of last night. we moved to a new hotel (the fairmont royal york) on wednesday night, and it had no internet access in our room, despite being quite nice in nearly all other regards. there was an internet lounge, but it was running linux on pentium 2's, as a demand management device. (that's my theory, and i'm sticking to it.) i could only be in there for a little while before i was driven out by either going slowly, very slowly, mad by the speed, or before i had to escape people who thought that the computers would work better if they hit them more.

i have nineteen gazillion emails to read and answer, work is just like i left it, and my car still does that irritating thing.

but toronto was cool. more on that later.
