here's what i looked like, fifteen years ago.

long hair, skinny wrists, still unable to sit with my knees together, i had just recently gotten wire rim glasses but look how big they are! and i was beginning the process of figuring out how to roll up my sleeves so they stay up and out of my way. (at that point, i believe my process was "hey, you, could you roll my sleeves up for me? uh, remarkably like it is now, come to think. except the dogs are really bad at it..)

i'd been wanting a copy of this picture pretty much since it was taken; there aren't a lot of good pictures of me out there in the world. but last week i figured might as well ask the ex of mine who had it for a copy; worst she could do was say no and i'd still not have a copy of it. but she pointed me at where she'd scanned it, and here we go and now the entire world (or at least the six of you who read this) get to see it. so, i'm pleased i asked, and i'm pleased she passed it along.

for those of you familiar with macalester geography, this is taken in the 3rd (2nd?) floor turck lounge, right outside my dorm room that year. it would have been my junior year, so this might have been fall 1993, come to think.
