since last we left our intrepid hero...
my mom's surgery went really really well. it was last friday. she came home the next day, is up and around, and is feeling good. we (that would be myself and the squirrel in my pocket) are all astonished and relieved and grateful.
hm. nothing else that eventful going on here.
it's finally spring. spring spring spring spring spring wheeee spring! so very excited.
this morning, my garage door opener broke. actually, it broke last night, but it was dark and there was no way anyone might come out to try and fix it, so i left it alone over night. this morning, i was trapped. trapped! but lt came out and helped me get untrapped, and we have secret plans involving bolts and me buying her dinner to get it fixed.
my air and phone supplies are fine, though.
what else. i am reading charles stross' _singularity sky_, and i adore rachel mansour. adore. stross is good for stretching out my brain and also making me laugh. space lobsters, for example.

Yes! Space lobsters.
Accelerando is the only book by Stross that I've read, and I really should read more. I'm working through Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun right now, though.
